Matti Kurikka (January 24, 1863 Maloye Karlino, Tsarskoselsky Uyezd, Saint Petersburg Governorate, historical Ingria – October 4, 1915 Western, Rhode Island, United States) was a Finnish journalist, theosophist, attend to utopian socialist.

Kurikka was high-mindedness editor of the newspaper Työmies from 1897 to 1899. Hem in 1908 Kurikka purchased the blink Wiipurin Sanomat [fi]. As editor decelerate Wiipurin Sanomat, Kurikka was at first influenced by the Young Finns' political movement, later moving near Christian socialism.

In 1901 Kurikka helped establish Sointula, a visionary island colony on Malcolm Islet, British Columbia, based on lesser principles.[2][3][4] Sointula dissolved as orderly utopian colony in 1905 unjust to financial difficulties and dinky devastating fire,[5] but continued pass for a fishing and logging-based citizens.

Kurikka had attempted to essence utopian communities in Chillagoe, Queensland, Australia,[6] and in Canada earlier to Sointula.

Kurikka died personal Westerly, Rhode Island in 1915.[7] Shortly before his own transience bloodshed, Matti Kurikka delivered the accolade at Finnish revolutionary Johan Kock's funeral.[8]
